Call for Applications: Women in Volunteering & Community Service Opportunities
We recognise that the students of today are passionate about many causes and are often looking out for opportunities to enable them to make a difference. The Office of Student Life is initiating a new grant to encourage women in the Design & Engineering programmes to organise and/or partake in volunteering and community service opportunities. CDE Camp 2023
June marks the start of the season for welcoming new students. Organised by the CDE Club, the CDE Camp 2023 is the first of the CDE Freshman Orientation Programmes. Held from 12 to 14 June, the first CDE Camp was a great opportunity for the incoming CDE freshmen to make new friends among peers and CDE seniors (group leaders). Through exciting games such as the amazing race and escape room, the freshmen forged new bonds with each other throughout the three days and made many precious memories.
Freshmen may look forward to activities and camps organised by CDE, CDE Club and Sub Clubs leading up to the beginning of their NUS journey. Mark the date – 21 July 2023 – for the CDE Freshman Welcome!
Winning Mural: "Week 13 at CDE"
The CDE Mural Competition was open to all CDE full-time students, who were encouraged to express their rendition of the theme “What does CDE mean to you? How would you describe CDE?” through their mural designs.
We are pleased to announce that competition winner, graduating Civil Engineering student, Theepa Kanisan’s mural is now displayed on the wall outside our Staff Lounge (E4-05-53).
The mural, titled “Week 13 at CDE”, displays the dynamic energy of the E4 corridor, with everyone trying to get somewhere or get something done. Even one of the NUS cats is included in this fun and vibrant piece.
Well done, Theepa!
