EVENTS & OTHER HAPPENINGS

"What If: Design Futures" Exhibition was held at the Arena@Bridge+ Ascent, Singapore Science Park 1 from 15-17 August and was jointly organised by Capitaland and the NUS Division of Industrial Design. What If: Design Futures was an exhibition that explored a collection of forward-thinking design projects that envision the possibilities of tomorrow. From bold interface concepts, to cutting-edge product designs, students have pushed the boundaries of innovation to shape a future that is both imaginative and practical.

On August 15th, the Opening Night and Networking Session featured an opening address from Associate Professor R. Brian Stone, Acting Head of the Division, and Marcus Lim, who is the Head of Flexible Workspace & Placemaking at CapitaLand. Both speakers emphasized the significance of interdisciplinary collaborations and how design can have a positive impact on innovation.

Subsequently, 2 sessions of "Lunch and Learn" were organised on the 16th and 17th August. The first session talks about the Future of Design & Technology, with speakers:
- Norman Teh, Senior Design Manager at Grab Singapore
- Assistant Professor Clement Zheng, NUS Division of Industrial Design
The second session covered the Future of Design Academia & Industry, with speakers:
- Victoria Koo, Design Strategist & UX Researcher as Johnson & Johnson
- Associate Professor R. Brian Stone, NUS Division of Industrial Design
