MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN!
Dear students, alumni, colleagues, and partners of CDE,
At CDE, we are committed to promoting impactful research and innovation that can make a significant difference, ensuring our efforts contribute not only to academic knowledge but also to a lasting, positive impact on society.
This month, three faculty members received Singapore’s highest recognition for scientists and engineers for their impactful work:
- Prof Lim Chwee Teck (Biomedical Engineering) received the President’s Science Award for pioneering mechanobiology research that reshaped understanding of cancer metastasis and opened new avenues for treatment.
- Asst Prof Andy Kah Ping Tay (Biomedical Engineering) received the Young Scientist Award for biomaterial-based therapies that accelerate wound healing and boost cancer immunotherapy.
- Asst Prof Wang Xinchao (Electrical and Computer Engineering) received the Young Scientist Award for innovations in AI that reduce computational demands and make powerful models accessible to more researchers.
Many other faculty members have also been honoured for their outstanding contributions to their fields, and we take great pride in celebrating these remarkable achievements.
These awards highlight the strength of CDE’s research community — where curiosity, collaboration, and perseverance drive discoveries that not only advance science and technology, but also improve lives and shape a better future.
As shared by Prof Lim Chwee Teck, “The President’s Science Award is a profound honour that recognises not only my team’s work, but also equally important, reinforces our commitment to push the frontiers of science, mentor the next generation, and translate discoveries into tangible benefits for society.”
Let us continue to work together to achieve our College mission: to inspire, innovate and transform!
