New Faculty and Staff
Ms Choon Pey Chyi Janice
Senior Executive, Dean’s Office
Ms Choon Pey Chyi Janice supports the Dean's Office (Strategic Initiatives and Operations), providing executive administration for the Deputy Deans. She brings extensive experience across school and corporate administration, HR, and operations. Her administrative background includes managing inboxes and stakeholder communications, preparing reports, maintaining records, and coordinating procurement and finance matters such as purchase requests, invoicing, and staff claims.
In operations, she handled vendor and contractor management, inventory control, facilities coordination, risk assessments and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and service recovery. She has overseen programme and event logistics, managed admissions and bookings, and implemented membership and booking systems using HRIS and school administration platforms. In HR and corporate support, she has handled training administration, conducted learning needs analyses, managed budgets, coordinated overseas travel, and prepared periodic reports. She has also coached junior staff and contributed to cross-department projects, an experience that will serve her well in supporting CDE.
Ms Natra Ellysha Felina Binte Abdullah
Management Assistant Officer, Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering
Ms Natra Ellysha Felina Binte Abdullah supports administrative and coordination tasks within the department's graduate research programmes. Prior to joining ChBE, she worked with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) under the Non-Work Pass domain, gaining experience in customer service and operational support for stakeholders.
Mr Leong Tong Daniel
Laboratory Technologist, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering
Mr Leong Tong Daniel brings experience from his prior work in the medical, biomedical, and diagnostic industries, where he managed laboratory equipment, conducted tests, and provided technical support. With an electronics engineering background, he has held roles involving troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, calibration, and project testing. With his diverse background, he will make effective contributions to the evolving education and research needs in the department.
Ms Ngo Sum Yin
Executive, Department of Mechanical Engineering
Ms Ngo Sum Yin supports the department's academic programmes and manages other administrative matters. Sum Yin recently graduated from the Department of Real Estate at the National University of Singapore, bringing a fresh perspective and enthusiasm to the team.
Management Updates
Effective 1 November 2025, Associate Professor Khoo Eng Tat will be the Director of the newly rebranded Institute for Design and Engineering Leadership (IDEL), formerly the Institute for Engineering Leadership (IEL). The rebranding and repositioning of IEL to IDEL reflects CDE’s spirit of integrating design and engineering to drive innovation and impact. IDEL will spearhead design-led innovation, deep-tech venture creation, leadership development, and CET programmes to nurture future-ready innovators and leaders.
We would like to express our deepest appreciation to Emeritus Professor Hang Chang Chieh for his dedicated leadership and invaluable contributions as Executive Director, IEL. We also extend our gratitude to Professor Ignatius Rasiah, who stepped up to help helm IEL in its transition period.
Retirement
Mdm Musni Bte Hussain
Laboratory Technologist, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, last day of service on 31 October 2025.
We extend our deepest gratitude for Mdm Musni's dedicated service and outstanding contributions to the E6NanoFab team.
Over the years, she has been a cornerstone of our Level 2 Cleanroom, Dry Lab, and Wet Lab operations, ensuring not only the smooth functioning of our facilities but also the safety and training of countless researchers and students.
Her remarkable attention to detail, commitment to lab safety, and proactive support across equipment commissioning, maintenance, and asset management have left a lasting impact. Beyond her technical expertise, Mdm Musni has also played vital roles as ECE’s coordinators, embodying professionalism and reliability in every task.
We thank Musni for her years of dedicated service and wish her a well-deserved, fulfilling retirement ahead.
