Senior Lecturer

Biography

Dr. Andi Sudjana Putra is presently a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore, having been a research fellow since 2008. He graduated cum laude in Mechanical Engineering from Brawijaya University (Indonesia) in 2001, specializing in energy conversion, with a thesis in the optimum condition of combustion in laminar flow; following which he worked for Newmont Mining Corp.

He obtained his Master of Technological Design in Mechatronics from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) in 2004 with merit, with a thesis on microdispensing system using the mass inertia of the fluid. In 2009, he obtained his PhD degree from NUS in Electrical & Computer Engineering, specializing in control and automation, with a dissertation on piezoelectric actuation system using external-sensing and self-sensing approaches.

He has published papers in various international journals and conferences in relation to his works on controlled motion and its application in medical devices, lithography, and manufacturing. He has also published a book and contributed various chapters about motion control and automation. He has been awarded a patent in tissue micro array from WIPO.
