This project aims to enhance firefighter visibility and rescue efficiency by integrating thermal imaging with an intelligent smoke-elimination algorithm in an AR goggle mask, enabling first responders to see through smoke in real time, locate trapped victims, and improve survival rates.
V-Safe: safer insulin pen needle handling
This project aims to eliminate accidental needle-stick injuries among diabetes patients by developing an integrated system that minimises direct hand contact during insulin pen needle installation, removal, and secure disposal.

Learning in the field
In this project, we designed an AI-powered outdoor learning app to help students explore and learn in a more personalised, immersive, and constructive way. By offering real-time guidance and interactive content, we address the challenge of limited engagement and one-size-fits-all learning, making outdoor education more dynamic, student-driven, and holistic.

This project aims to support non-professional Alzheimer’s caregivers by providing a smart wearable device and mobile app with real-time health monitoring, automated reminders, and expert guidance to enhance patient independence and reduce caregiver burden.

This project aims to help teenagers alleviate appearance anxiety by creating an immersive gamified virtual exhibition.
NECO: odourless household composter
This project aims to provide an effective and aerobic indoor composting solution for households, thereby increasing composting rates and contributing to the reduction of global food waste by designing Nature's Pantry, an affordable, odour-free indoor composter with user-friendly features.
CDE5301 is a course in which students will work in multi-disciplinary groups to work on a major design project. The problem statement for the project may be self-proposed or it may be provided by industry partners who are keen to work with students on complex challenges which they are facing. In the design process, students will start with understanding stakeholders, developing a mission statement, ideating on the possible design solution and finally prototyping. Students will be expected to apply their understanding of design thinking and engineering systems design to deliver on the project.
