Engineering Fabrication Laboratory

The Engineering Fabrication Laboratory (also known as Fab Lab) is equipped with an array of equipment that are suitable for students’ prototyping work in their design projects. With 3D printers, a laser cutting machine, and a range of cutting and drilling machines, Fab Lab allows students to practice and hone their hands-on skills. Furthermore, Fab Lab aims to be a place where students in NUS can come and work on multi-disciplinary projects, and translate their ideas and research into working prototypes.

UP!BOX 3D Printer

The UP! BOX 3D printer features a steel chassis, automated calibration, and a fully enclosed build chamber to cut down on noise while also keeping fumes from reaching outside the chamber via a HEPA filter.

The Epilog M2 40 Laser Cutting Machine is a fast and easy-to-use machine which can be used to cut and engrave acrylic sheets up to 9 mm thickness. Images can be created using most mainstream graphic software and then send directly to print on the machine.

Royal Mac S22 Scroll Sawing Machine

A light duty sawing machine capable of cutting small workpieces. It is a small electric saw which can be used to cut intricate curves and make interior cuts in wood and soft thin materials. The fineness of its blade allows it to cut more delicately compared to a normal jigsaw power tool.
