Duke-NUS Engineering & Medicine Track
The practice of medicine is fast changing to extend beyond the application of science. We see technology playing a significant role in patient care and treatment.
As such, the Duke-NUS Engineering & Medicine Track aims to prepare students with a background in engineering for leadership roles in healthcare as clinicians who can harness technological advancements for impactful innovation. This track is jointly offered by NUS College of Design and Engineering and Duke-NUS Medical School. Students in this track will graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree at NUS, followed by a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree at Duke-NUS Medical School.
Apart from their primary Engineering major, students in the Duke-NUS Engineering & Medicine Track are required to complete the Second Major in Innovation & Design and GMS1000 The Duke-NUS Premed Course during their undergraduate degree. Students in this track are also expected to participate actively in mentorship and enrichment activities at Duke-NUS such as medical specialties workshops, pre-health experiential programme, clinical observership, and community projects that will prepare them for graduate medical school at Duke-NUS upon completion of their undergraduate degree at NUS.
