Congratulations to Andrew Wijaya (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2022), Michael Sutanto (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2022), and Shirley Wang (Theatre Studies, Class of 2022) on their success in the NUS Resilience and Growth Innovation Challenge for their project on robot-enabled companionship for older adults.

The project aims to empower the elderly to live healthily and independently by promoting mental wellness and supporting healthcare services. This objective is delivered through their robot which has features such as reminders for medical appointments and medications, video calls with healthcare service providers, and personalized audio and visual content for cognitive engagement.

The NUS Resilience and Growth Innovation Challenge award provides a grant of up to $50,000 for 6 months for the team to develop their robot into a commercial product.
