Congratulations to our iDP team Agritisan who won the NUS Resilience and Growth (R&G) Innovation Challenge.
Agritisan, previously known as HexAgri, is a rooftop hydroponics farm in Singapore that aims to contribute to Singapore’s 30 by 30 goal (i.e. to produce 30% of its own food by 2030).
The team is answering the nation-wide initiative to ensure food security in Singapore through its own proprietary technology that focuses on high yield produce, self-sustainable in water and energy, and rapid deployment which allows the towers to be easily installed and detached anywhere and anytime. Their self-sustainable system allows no external electricity and water to be drawn to sustain the farms.
Certainly, all of these can be done through the great synergy of the Agritisan team, which comprises of Furlyn Chow (Materials Science & Engineering, Class of 2022) who manages operation of the farm, Clement Clayrant Chen (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2022) who handles the business development side, with Darren Erdyan Khalif (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2022) and Ho Cheng Wei (Mechanical Engineering, Class of 2019) who ensures that the technology works well and keep innovating.
