NUS RoboMaster is a student-run team comprising of over 80 members hailing from different academic disciplines, working together to develop nine robots to compete in the DJI RoboMaster University Championships – the ultimate robot deathmatch.

Established in 2019 with the support of NUS and a generous alumnus, we are dedicated in our goal to design, fabricate and programme the best robots possible. In 2021, the team participated in the online version of the DJI RoboMaster University League and achieved a respectable fourth place finish among all RoboMaster teams from across the globe in our first official competitive outing.

NUS RoboMaster hosted its first Internal Competition in September 2021 to test the competitive readiness of our robots. With the successful conclusion of the event, the team is hoping to bring other DJI robotics competitions to life in Singapore.

Designed to give students a taste of what it is like to work in robotics, NUS RoboMaster develops its own fleet of robots every year. Applying what have been learned in classrooms, our mechanical engineering students are heavily involved in robot design and fabrication such as computer-aided design, machine handling and hands-on assembly. Our students from electrical engineering, computer engineering, and computer science build the codes that bring our robot to live. New members are trained in the DarkNUS programme, giving them an opportunity to learn about robotics before they are promoted to the senior competitive team which is known as Team LumiNUS.

Our workshop located at EW1A is a constant flurry of activity as students do everything from fabricate to shooting robots in our test arena. Watch out for our recruitment drives at the start of every semester!

Aside from developing future engineers, NUS RoboMaster is also open to students outside of Engineering and Computing who are looking to kickstart their careers in technology and robotics. Over the years, the team has welcomed students from Business as well as Humanities and Sciences, filling in key business development roles in logistics and communications. We are always open to students with a passion for learning something new!
