Optimisation of testing methods for floating PV degradation

As deployment of floating photovoltaic (PV) systems gets more popular globally, it is important to rethink the current test standards for their qualification and safety. This is because high salt concentration could contribute to greater potential inducted degradation (PID). This project explores a new salt mist PID test method for floating PVs and compares the results between conventional PID testing and PID testing with salt mist. Under the same temperature and time, it is found that PID testing with salt mist leads to greater power loss compared to conventional PID testing.
