Green Doctors Programme

Every year, 78 tonnes of plastic and aluminium wastes resulting from 36 million discarded medical blisters are disposed by hospitals in Singapore. Presently, these wastes are incinerated as there is no technology to effectively separate and recycle them.

To address this problem, we developed a proprietary green chemical solvent that can separate plastic from aluminium in medical blisters. The solvent is fully recyclable, and the process can recover up to 98% of the plastic and aluminium. This promising technology has the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of medical blister disposal by up to 90%.
