Biography
Lee Hyunju (Julee) is presently an Adjunct Associate Professor, and a Design Thinker in Residence at the Innovation & Design Programme (iDP), National University of Singapore.
Julee is a design professional over 15 years of experience in the field, who crafted world-class products that are used by millions people.
Drawing on her vast experience from both multinational companies and disruptive start-ups, Julee brings her expertise in UX, Product Design, Design Thinking for Innovation, and Design Sprints based on human centred methodologies and research practices.
At her most recent role, a Senior Vice President, Link Design Centre at NTUC, Julee has the mission to build the Centre of Design Excellence to drive a digital transformation across NTUC Social Enterprises, she has established a highly performing team to spread design culture through three core pillars of Design, Research, and Innovation Training.
Prior to joining NTUC, Julee was a VP, Head of Product and Design at honestbee, a Silicon Valley-backed start-up, where she managed teams across multiple products and platforms. At PayPal, she managed the UED team and was an Innovation Facilitator in Asia-Pacific region. Julee conducted design thinking workshops and customer-driven research in Tokyo, Shanghai, Sydney, Mumbai, and Coimbatore.
Given this prolific journey, Julee is a recognised as a leader in the design community. She continues to organise meetups as the founder of Design Bootcamp Asia, and is also a regular keynote speaker at UX conferences worldwide.
Julee received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Design from Carnegie Mellon University in the U.S. and Master of Arts in Digital Media Management from Hyper Island, with affiliation of Teesside University in UK.
She currently holds 11 patents with the USPTO.
