Biography
Professor Veera is a botanist focusing on nature-based solutions for urban and natural ecologies. He specialises in Regenerative Smart Urban Green Cities of the Future and Regenerative Agritech systems. He lectures on topics such as Applied and Adaptive Engineering Design with IoT and Smart AI systems, and has published papers in these areas. He is also an Advisor for NUS Enterprise and mentors’ start-ups in nature-based solutions.
Professor Veera work in establishing businesses and contributing to social causes has earned him recognition, including a finalist for the Straits Times Singaporean of the year in 2019 and receiving the NUS Outstanding Science Alumni Award in 2014.
Professor Veera is also the Founder of Greenology, a nature-based solutions company that provides engineering and nature-based solutions for indoor and outdoor sustainable urban greening. He serves on various boards and advisory roles related to environmental and wildlife projects.
