Call for Abstracts: The 10th APRU Sustainable Cities and Landscapes Conference 2027

The Department of Architecture is pleased to invite abstract submissions for Bridging Resilience(s): The 10th APRU Sustainable Cities and Landscapes Conference 2027, taking place in Singapore from 21–23 May 2027. Marking the 10th anniversary of the APRU Sustainable Cities and Landscapes (SCL) network, the conference will bring together scholars, educators, practitioners, and community partners from across the Pacific Rim to exchange knowledge and advance conversations on urban and environmental resilience.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS Amid climate crises, economic and technological uncertainties, and social and environmental disruptions, cities and communities across the Pacific Rim are facing profound and unprecedented challenges. Yet the knowledge and practices of sustainable planning, governance, and design often remain siloed and fragmented. Under the theme Bridging Resilience(s), APRU SCL 2027 asks how different knowledges and practices can connect and coalesce in advancing social, cultural, and environmental resilience in cities and communities.

The conference will also examine how bridging itself—the ability to network, organise, co-create, and forge connections—can constitute a form of resilience in the face of crisis and disruption. We welcome abstract submissions for papers and posters addressing critical issues and emerging strategies for urban and environmental resilience in the Pacific Rim, including work that engages with transdisciplinary collaboration, comparative studies, and cross-cultural investigation.
