Exhibition – Expanding Agency: Women, Race and the Global Dissemination of Modern Architecture

“Expanding Agency: Women, Race and the Global Dissemination of Modern Architecture”, is a travelling exhibition by architectural historian, Prof. Kathleen James Chakraborty of the University College Dublin. Drawing from multiple research projects, the exhibition presents the stories and contributions of historically underrepresented, women and racialised communities across the globe, and includes the narratives of Indian women from the 20th century related to gender, race and dissemination. Told through the medium of photographs, drawings, archives and written narratives, this exhibition explores the intricacies of gender in the built environment which transcends women in various roles and their contributions to the field.
