CDE Movie Event 2026: Celebrating Our Donors and the Spirit of Giving
The CDE Movie Event returned this October, welcoming close to 500 donors and guests to Golden Village VivoCity across two evenings on 16 and 17 October. It was a wonderful opportunity to bring our valued donors, their families and friends together for a relaxing movie experience, and more importantly, to thank them for their continued generosity and support of the College of Design and Engineering (CDE).
Organised as part of CDE’s donor appreciation efforts, the movie event has become a special occasion for the College to connect with our supporters beyond the usual formal engagements. It was a chance for everyone to take a break from their busy schedules, enjoy a movie together and catch up with familiar faces.
A Movie Experience to Enjoy Together
Guests were welcomed with light refreshments before the movie screenings, providing an opportunity to mingle and catch up with fellow guests ahead of the show. Adding to the fun this year was Wolfram, our CDE mascot, who made a special appearance to bring extra cheer to the event. Guests took the opportunity to pose for photos with Wolfram, adding a playful touch to the evening and creating more moments to remember.
The two evenings offered more than just a movie screening. From conversations over refreshments to photos with Wolfram and enjoying the film together, the event provided a relaxed setting for donors and their families to spend quality time together.
Celebrating Our CDE Community
The CDE Movie Event is one of the ways the College recognises the people who have contributed to its journey. The generosity of our donors supports a range of initiatives, including bursaries and scholarships for students, as well as the College’s educational and research endeavours. Their contributions help create opportunities for students to pursue their ambitions and play a part in shaping the future of engineering and design.
We hope everyone who joined us enjoyed the movie, the refreshments and the company. Thank you to all our donors and guests for being part of CDE Movie Event 2026.
