Gift Agreement Signing and Cheque Presentation Ceremony – Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary
The College of Design and Engineering (CDE), National University of Singapore, held a Gift Agreement Signing and Cheque Presentation Ceremony on 31 October 2025 to commemorate a generous contribution to the Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary.
The donation is made by The Masonic Charitable Fund and Mr Muthukrishnan Paradesi, in memory of Mrs Krishnammal and Mr Marimuthu Paradesi. This meaningful gift further strengthens the endowed bursary established in 2022 under the leadership of Dr Brian Shegar, with the aim of supporting students facing financial challenges.
Through this latest contribution of $25,000, the bursary will be able to support up to 18 students annually once the fund is fully established. Since its inception, the Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary has already benefitted 31 students who received crucial financial assistance to pursue their studies with peace of mind.
Professor Teo Kie Leong, Dean of the College of Design and Engineering, expressed deep appreciation to the donors for their steadfast commitment to student welfare. He highlighted that such support not only alleviates students’ financial burdens but also inspires them to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
The College extends its heartfelt thanks to The Masonic Charitable Fund and Mr Muthukrishnan Paradesi for their generosity and continued partnership in nurturing the next generation of engineers and designers. Their belief in education and community upliftment continues to make a lasting impact on the lives of many CDE students.
