Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary

The Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary (MCF) was established in 2019 with the aim to provide educational assistance to financially disadvantaged students. Since its establishment, Dr Brian Shegar, Chairman of MCF and fellow trustees have actively approached the Freemasonry’s masonic lodges in Singapore to jointly give back to the community. In January 2022, the MCF and the Lodge Singapore made their first donation to NUS to provide crucial assistance to financially disadvantaged undergraduates from the College of Design and Engineering (CDE). CDE was chosen as the first beneficiary in NUS because it resonates with the roots of Freemasonry that Guilds of Stone Masons were the original architects, engineers, designers, and sculptors who built cathedrals, castles and other structures during the Medieval Era. Since then, the MCF and its various lodges have been steadfast in its commitment, actively contributing to the Masonic Charitable Fund Endowed Bursary.
