To empower talent and research, the donation will fund two key initiatives: the TAL Scholarship and the TAL Fund.

The TAL Scholarship aims to recognise and support outstanding students by providing financial assistance to high-achieving individuals, enabling them to pursue academic excellence without financial constraints.

The TAL Fund is dedicated to advancing academic research, particularly in areas such as advanced structures, sustainable design, and related fields. This will help researchers push the boundaries of what is possible in the built environment.

This partnership goes beyond financial support. It also aims to foster industry-academia collaboration, enabling both researchers and students to tackle real-world challenges and shape the future of the industry.

Professor Richard Liew, Head of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at CDE, expressed his appreciation for TAL Group’s support. He added, “This partnership provides our faculty and students with the opportunity to acquire advanced and in-depth knowledge to solve complex engineering problems, ultimately improving the lives of many.”

This initiative reflects TAL Group’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable development. By investing in education and research, the company reaffirms its mission to drive technological advancement and prepare the next generation of leaders in the built environment.

Mr Ouyang Yuanwen, founder of TAL Group, highlighted the importance of this partnership. He said, “We are honoured to support CDE, NUS and its mission to cultivate the next generation of engineers. We believe that education has the power to transform lives and drive innovation. Through this partnership, we look forward to shaping a brighter, more sustainable future.”
