ABOUT NYFP

Overview

Join us in June 2025 for the second NUS Young Fellowship Programme organised by NUS Graduate School and NUS School of Continuing and Lifelong Education.

We invite talented young scholars worldwide to this month-long programme to explore NUS’ world-class research and postgraduate opportunities. Engage with leading faculty, connect with peers and experience academic excellence at its finest!

Programme Features

  • Theme: ‘AI and PhD Research’
  • Visits to cutting-edge research labs and iconic local attractions
  • Complimentary on-campus accommodation
  • One week of engaging face-to-face lectures and workshops led by NUS professors and researchers
  • Three weeks of online tutorials and hands-on practice in project presentations
  • SGD 600 travel allowance (upon completion of the full programme)

Senior undergraduates (Year 3 or above) with outstanding academic records.

Things to note:

  • Full participation in the 5-day event and all online sessions is required to qualify for the SGD 600 award.
  • You are responsible for your lunch and dinner during the programme, with an estimated cost of SGD 10-15 per meal.
  • An exciting visit to Gardens by the Bay is planned for the third day. Entry to the Flower Dome and Cloud Forest is not included. If you wish to enter, tickets can be purchased online: https://www.gardensbythebay.com.sg/.
  • Any personal expenses incurred during your 5-day stay in Singapore that are not part of the official programme (such as additional transportation, meals, and leisure activities) will be at your own expense.
  • Please note that airfare to and from Singapore is not included.
  • Accommodation is available for check-in on Sunday, 22 June 2025, at 2 PM (SGT) and check-out on Saturday, 28 June 2025 before 12 PM (SGT). No changes are allowed to these dates and times.

APPLICATION

Application Materials

  • A detailed CV (maximum two A4 pages)
  • A personal statement or reflective essay (maximum 1,000 words) addressing either:
    • A research area of strong personal interest, including its anticipated development
    • A current social issue or concern of significant personal relevance, including individual insights on potential resolutions
  • Academic transcript (optional but highly recommended)
  • Two letters of recommendation (optional, but we strongly encourage applicants to provide recommendation letters from faculty members who can specifically attest to their academic/research potential for this programme)
  • Passport-size photo

  • Step 1: Access the Graduate Admission System (GDA3) to apply for the NUS Young Fellowship programme.
    Add New Programme → Select 'Non-Degree Programme'; 'Full-Time'; Enroll in 'June 2025 Special Term' → Click 'View Programmes for application' → Click 'Apply Now' for the 'NUS Young Fellowship Programme'.
  • Step 2: Upload the necessary documents and complete the required sections.
