MSE Materials Fellowship 2026
The MSE Materials Fellowship is offered to selected incoming students(ALL nationalities) who show strong academic promise and the potential to thrive in Materials Science and Engineering at NUS.
Designed to recognise and nurture a wider pool of high-potential students, this MSE Materials Fellowship provides recipients with enriched opportunities that extend beyond the regular undergraduate experience.
The recipients will benefit from early exposure to research from Year 1, personalised mentoring by senior professors, and priority consideration for overseas learning opportunities. In addition, each recipient will receive the following benefits to support approved overseas academic, research, or enrichment activities:
- a one-off travel grant of S$2,000 for approved student exchange programme or research conference
- a one-off learning support grant of S$2,000 (e.g., laptop)
- a one-off innovation grant of S$1,000
NUS Materials Science and Engineering Materials Fellowship (MSE Materials Fellowship) is open to all nationalities.
Research Exposure
- A one-off travel grant of S$2,000 to support approved student exchange programme or research conference from Year 2 onwards
- Early research opportunities from Year 1
Academic Support
- A one-off learning support grant of S$2,000 for approved learning aids, such as a laptop
- Structured mentoring by senior professors,
- Priority consideration for overseas learning opportunities
Innovation Acceleration
- A one-off innovation grant of S$1,000 for project prototypes
- Dedicated mentoring for competitions
Industry and Career Development
- Priority access to selected industry engagement activities

Community Engagement and Leadership
- Leadership development opportunities, including student leadership roles in student-initiated workshops
A Certificate of Achievement upon successful completion of the programme.
- The recipient must be matriculating in the year of the MSE Materials Fellowship and accept NUS Materials Science and Engineering programme offer.
- Please note that NUS Materials Science and Engineering Study Award is not offered to E-scholar or the holder of any other scholarship or MSE Study Award.
- Maintain a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 3.5.
