Dr Liu Hongfei is a Principal Scientist and Group Leader of Corrosion and Protective Coating (CPC) in the Future Energy Acceleration and Translation (FEAT) Centre at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR, Singapore. He obtained his Ph.D. in Condensed Matter Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2001, and his B.E. in Semiconductor Physics and Devices from Xi’an Jiaotong University in 1996. His current research focuses on corrosion testing of structural metal alloys and development of protective coatings towards their applications in extreme conditions, including liquid metal, molten salt, and high temperature/high pressure water.
