Assistant Professor Andrew Barnabas Wong from the NUS Department of Materials Science and Engineering received the Robert Brown Promising Researcher Award from Singapore’s Ministry of Education in December 2025.
The award recognises promising early-career researchers and provides additional support to develop their research. Asst Prof Wong’s associated MOE Academic Research Fund Tier 2 project investigates biopolymers for controlling the local chemical environment in electrochemical CO2 conversion. The project aims to develop replacements for Nafion, a PFAS fluorinated polymer, and improve the selective production of useful chemicals from CO2.
