Professor Ho Ghim Wei, Provost’s Chair Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been awarded the 2025 Nano Energy Award for Energy Conversion. Presented for the first time this year, the award honours researchers whose work in nanomaterials and nanodevices is driving the future of sustainable energy technologies.
Prof Ho’s research focuses on clean energy conversion from ambient sources and the development of next-generation nanomaterials that enable more efficient, adaptable, and resilient energy systems. Her group integrates materials design, device engineering, and environmental sustainability to address long-term challenges in energy resilience and the global transition to low-carbon technologies.
Widely recognised for her contributions, Prof Ho is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher and recipient of honours including the L’Oréal–UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship and the JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award. Her work continues to bridge fundamental scientific breakthroughs with impactful real-world applications.
