Fellowship recognises Asst. Prof. Canepa’s work in the field of Computational Materials Science, including work designing new materials for clean energy technologies.

NUS has been listed as 7th in a list of 50 global leaders in materials science research, making it the only university from Singapore in the Top 10.

NUS industrial designers have won a prestigious Red Dot Award in 2021. The international jury has awarded Aline Chair the distinction “Red Dot”, which stands for high design quality.

Award recognises her work in the design and synthesis of organic molecules and nanomaterials to advance biomedical research and applications, as well as for excellence in communication.

“The Schmidt Science fellowship allows me to pursue high-risk research at the boundaries of traditional disciplines,” said PhD student Max Hülsey.

Six of SDE faculty members have received either the Annual Teaching Excellence Award (ATEA) or Annual Digital Education Award (ADEA) 2021.
