Ice that burns: Boosting Singapore’s energy security
Solidified Natural Gas (SNG) is natural gas that is compressed and trapped in ice-like cages made primarily of water. A breakthrough process developed by NUS researchers allows the production of SNG much more economically and using much less toxic chemicals than previous methods, opening the way to easy storage of this increasingly popular energy source.
