Makerspace (the Fab Lab)

Our very own community DIY workshop at Block E4 #02-06 (below the BME Dept Office) lets you bring your designs and innovation to life!

Study & Collaboration Areas

You can find several spaces around CDE set aside for quiet study or small-group discussions. For a change of scenery, explore the dedicated study rooms or collaboration spaces at Yusof Ishak House (under renovation), NUS Libraries, and UTown. You can even book private discussion rooms at the latter two locations for your group projects.

Notebooks

The University offers attractive notebook tender that comes with the latest CPU configurations, Windows 10 Professional and anti-virus software for students. All notebooks are pre-configured to access the University’s plug-and-play and wireless network (NUSNET). All matriculated students, staff and departments are eligible to purchase the notebook from the tender.

PC Clusters

General Purpose PC Clusters

Free to use PC Clusters with Windows or Mac computers for use by the NUS community are commonly found within NUS. These computers are installed with standard software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite. Open to all NUS staff and students. For a list of the Common venues, please refer to this link.

CDE Teaching Computing Labs

There are various computing labs located around CDE for teaching purposes. Generally, only CDE staff and students are allowed to access these labs. Students from other faculties taking modules being conducted in such venue will have to be granted access specifically. Please note that these teaching labs are frequently booked for classes, especially during term time, so students not attending the classes are expected to vacate these venues.

Printing

You can print documents up to A3 size in black and white, as well as in colour at several facilities around NUS. Many of these offers remote network printing from your notebook – just follow the instructions at those locations.
