Internships

Internships integrate knowledge and theory learnt in the classroom with practical application and skill development in a professional setting. It enables students to learn about the latest developments in the industries and to interact with engineers and other professionals as they work on projects or tasks that help to develop or enhance their skills whilst contributing to the organization.

The CDE Engineering Industrial Attachment programmes are for students who are admitted into the B.Eng degree requiring a credit bearing internship. Depending on their programme requirements, students will embark on the

  • Industrial Attachment (IA) of at least 20 weeks during the semester; or
  • Vacation Industrial Attachment (VIA) of at least 12 weeks during the summer vacation (Special Term).

Internships under the Industrial Attachment programmes must be relevant to students' engineering disciplines and must provide ample opportunities for students to apply their engineering knowledge.
