The MoU signing and a combined $2 million in recent grants from Woh Hup highlights a significant strengthening of the long-standing research collaboration between Woh Hup and CDE.

CDE and Woh Hup have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster joint research and development in advanced construction materials and technologies, building on many years of research collaboration between the two parties.

According to the MoU document, the collaboration aims to benefit CDE and Woh Hup by focusing on three key areas:

  • Advanced structures with high-performance materials
  • Sustainable construction materials with low embodied carbon
  • Concrete 3D-printing technology

The MoU, signed at Woh Hup’s headquarters on 7 August, is supported by a $1 million research grant contributed by Woh Hup.

This comes on top of a $1 million research grant contribution made in June during the Singapore International Water Week to the Coastal Protection and Flood Resilience Institute (CFI) Singapore, a multi-institutional research centre hosted at CDE.

The combined $2 million in grants from Woh Hup highlights a significant strengthening of the long-standing relationship and research collaboration between Woh Hup and CDE and signifies the ongoing commitment by both parties to pioneering advancements in construction technology and sustainable practices.
