Professor Yang Hyunsoo (Electrical and Computer Engineering) has been elected a 2025 Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS).

Prof Yang was nominated by the APS Topical Group on Magnetism and its Applications (GMAG) for “significant contributions to topological spintronics, including spin–orbit torque and terahertz emission in 2D materials, and for leadership in education, service to the scientific community, and engagement with industry.”

Fellowship in the APS is a prestigious recognition of outstanding contributions to physics research, education, and leadership. Each year, fewer than 0.5% of the Society’s membership (excluding student members) are elected Fellows by their peers.

Prof Yang’s election reflects his international standing in the field of spintronics and his continued contributions to advancing physics and engineering research.
