Professor Ang Kah Wee from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET).
This distinction is the highest grade of membership within the IET, awarded to a select group of professionals who have demonstrated sustained leadership, professional excellence, and significant impact on the engineering community.
Prof Ang’s election recognises a distinguished career marked by pioneering contributions to both industry and academia. He currently spearheads multiple research programmes in nanoelectronics and nanotechnology and serves as the Chief Technology Officer for the National Semiconductor Translation and Innovation Centre (NSTIC).
The FIET Fellowship is the latest in a long line of prestigious accolades for Professor Ang.
He was a recipient of the President’s Technology Award (2010), Singapore's highest national honour for exceptional research scientists and engineers. His research has also been recognised with the IEEE Paul Rappaport Award, the inaugural TSMC Outstanding Student Research Gold Award, and the Best Demo Paper Award at the 2019 Symposium on VLSI Technology, a flagship conference in the semiconductor field. Throughout his career, he received numerous other honours, including the IEEE Electron Devices Society Graduate Fellowship, underscoring a career defined by consistent excellence.
