DoA Graduate Futures Fellowship

The inaugural DoA Graduate Futures Fellowship was launched on 1 October 2024 to support outstanding students from ASEAN member states who wish to pursue a professional graduate degree at the Department of Architecture, NUS.

Eligibility

All citizens of ASEAN member states* (excluding Singapore) who apply to the Master of Arts in Urban Design programme are automatically considered for the DoA Graduate Futures Fellowship.

All applications should be submitted to the Graduate Admission System. Applicants are encouraged to apply early from 1 October to 31 December 2024.

* ASEAN member states: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam

Quantum

Two Fellowships will be awarded, and each Fellowship provides 40% of full-time tuition fees per academic year.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview and additional materials may be requested for further deliberation. Either NUS or the programme reserves the right to not award any scholarship if there are no candidates of sufficient merit. The decision of the selection committee is final. Enquiries or disputes surrounding its decisions will not be entertained.

Terms and Conditions of the Fellowship

•  Fellowship recipients may not concurrently hold any other scholarship, fellowship, bursary, grant, award or allowance, without prior approval from the University.
•  The Fellowship will be renewed every semester provided the fellowship recipient maintains a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.0 (or equivalent) and has good conduct.
•  The Fellowship is tenable for the normal candidature period and cannot be transferred across programmes.
•  Neither NUS nor the programme guarantees and/or provides Fellowship recipients with employment upon graduation.
•  If the Fellowship recipient decides to withdraw from the University and/or terminate the scholarship prematurely, the University reserves the right to impose repayment of all Fellowship monies disbursed to the Fellow.

Other Scholarships

NUS offers a range of scholarships for Singapore citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, and international students. Awards, medals & prizes available for MAUD programme include:

• SIA Prize (Book Prize of S$300): for best student in the MAUD programme who has passed all the essential and elective modules at the first and same sitting.
• Cheong Koon Hean Scholarship: The Cheong Koon Hean Scholarship is established by Dr Cheong Koon Hean who is the CEO of Housing Development Board (HDB) since 2010. Up to three scholarships, each valued at S$9400 will be given out to deserving MAUD and MUP Singaporean students in each year with effect from Academic Year 2017/2018. The scholarship will be effective for one academic year for MAUD students.
