AR1328A Architectural Materials and Construction
The course introduces the basic concepts of construction technology, focusing on key materials use in building components and fundamental building system for the context of tropical climate. Properties of materials are discussed as technical strategies that will shape construction and architectural form. Connecting rigid and linear or planar materials will focus on timber and steel construction. Building with modular units and aggregation will address techniques of masonry and casting concrete.
