Janice Tung is an urban designer, landscape architect and Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore.

Janice’s current research investigates how the cultivation and exchange of botanical commodities have structured spatial, political, and material relations across scales, shaping urban and territorial formations. Through participatory scenario planning, she examines their social–ecological agency as embedded within histories of labour, land, and environmental governance.

Janice brings experience from both the public and private sectors, having served as Assistant Director at Gardens by the Bay, where she was involved in technical advisory and long-term strategic planning. She has practiced across the U.S., Europe, and Asia with firms AECOM (Hong Kong), Sasaki Associates (Boston), West 8 (Netherlands), Reed Hilderbrand (Boston), and Henning Larsen Architects (previously known as Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl, Singapore). Her portfolio spans public parks, cultural landscapes, waterfronts, and large-scale masterplanning frameworks.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Cornell University and a Master of Landscape Architecture in Urban Design from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Outside of academia, Janice is a registered yoga teacher and holds a WSET Level 2 certification in wines.
