About the lecture series:

Operators

An operator in architecture is an ambivalent notion. It is deliberately left open for you to interpret. On one hand, it can refer to a person in charge, who gets things done, a person who takes risks, or a player. On the other hand, it suggests someone who is highly trained and skilled, able to navigate difficult terrain and find safe passage, or someone who knows the ins and outs of a system. Therefore, this semester we invited guest speakers who might fall into one or more of these categories: people who are extremely successful, people who understand the Zeitgeist, people who are up-and-coming, or people who are extremely specialised in their field.
