Designing Belonging
In Designing Belonging, Sarah—Hong Kong architect and co-founder of onebite, the city’s first architectural B Corp—explores how human-centred design transforms public spaces into social infrastructure that fosters deep human connection. Addressing the shifts of an ageing population, she advocates for creating places that actively reduce isolation and strengthen intergenerational bonds.
Drawing on cross-sector collaboration and participatory design, Sarah will unpack key insights through two landmark case studies: Project House, which creatively transforms underused spaces into inclusive neighbourhood hubs, and the Sai Kung Hoi Arts Festival, which weaves art, culture, and local identity into public spaces.
Through these projects, Sarah demonstrates how data-driven placemaking and community empowerment can shape future urban lifestyles, ensuring our cities remain resilient, connected, and welcoming for all generations in the longevity era.
