Filip Biljecki received his PhD (cum laude) and MSc from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is the Director of the NUS Urban Analytics Lab, which has been a home for dozens of remarkable researchers who share ambitions about making our cities smarter and more data-driven. He has published more than 200 peer-reviewed articles. His awards include the Young Researcher Award in GIScience from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the Gill Memorial Award from the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers), and the NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Award.
Filip has supervised more than a hundred students, leading them to publications in leading journals and placements at top universities and organisations. He has delivered invited talks at more than 150 universities and organisations worldwide, and serves as an associate editor of two journals: Landscape and Urban Planning; and Computers, Environment and Urban Systems.
