water

Water constitutes seventy per cent of the earths surface it is one of the world’s most valuable resources yet it is also the most threatening. Its ubiquity in parts of the globe barely registers on the subconcious and its scarcity in other parts of the globe make it central to existence. Water is like gold…………‘whoever controls water controls power’.

The way in which most architects consider water is through functionality, yet water has also historically been used in many ingenious and the poetic ways. Architecture and its relationship to water is wonderfully complex it is and should be part of the imaginative repertoire of every designer.
