Master of Architecture
APPLICATION TIMELINE (AUG 2025 INTAKE)
There is one intake per academic year in August. Applications to the Master of Architecture programme for the August 2025 intake is now open from 1 October 2024 to 28 February 2025. For early consideration, students should aim to submit their applications by 30 November 2024, and outstanding candidates can expect to receive an offer as early as January 2025. Applicants who submit after December 2024 can expect to receive offers in March and April 2025.
While most offers will be made to early applications by March 2025, some may still receive an offer at a later date. The Department takes care to look at the applications as a cohort and will review all submitted applications together where necessary.
NUS Concurrent Degree Programme (CDP) students must complete the Architectural Design Track of the BA(Arch) programme with a minimum CAP of 2.5 to proceed to the M (Arch) programme. Candidates who meet the relevant requisites would also be considered for specialization in Urban Design in the M (Arch) final year.
Graduates of the Master of Architecture programme will have a prerequisite degree for professional registration in Singapore.

ADMISSION ELIGIBILITY
Applicants are required to possess:
- a BA (Arch) Hons accredited degree OR
- BA (Arch) accredited degree
Applicants must provide proof of accreditation (Form A) by a National Accreditation Board or the Board of Architects of the country of origin; or Board of Architects (Singapore), subjected to approval by the Board of Graduate Studies.
Applicants will be required to submit their academic transcripts and certifications in the application portal.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY
Applicants whose first language is not English are required to demonstrate their English proficiency by means of TOEFL / IELTS test scores. Applicants may be waived from this requirement if they completed their degree programme taught entirely in English, situated in an English-speaking country, for example (non-exhaustive list) Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, USA.
To meet the English requirement, the minimum score expected is:
- IELTS: A minimum 6.5 overall band score.
- TOEFL iBT (at a test centre)/Home Edition: A minimum score of 92.
- TOEFL iBT Paper Edition: A minimum score of 580.
SUBMISSION MATERIALS
All applicants must submit a softcopy A4 size academic design portfolio of undergraduate work (soft copy: 10-20 pages), with complete drawings of each design project in the application portal. Professional portfolio may only be considered in exceptional cases (e.g. strong professional experience). Candidates are to provide firm’s verification that the submissions comprise only his/her input. Hardcopy portfolios will no longer be required.
Applicants should submit at least 2 academic referee reports in the application portal.
