IATA: SKY

Set in the year 2075, IATA (International Air Transport Association) :SKY proposes a bold, three-phase revitalisation of Suzhou Industrial Park’s central waterfront district, transforming it into a vibrant nexus of aerial mobility, culture, and community. Responding to decades of urban stagnation, the project reimagines the site through a layered vision of infrastructural innovation and spatial renewal.
Phase 1 introduces elevated link bridges and expanded waterways weaving into Harmony Times Square—restoring lost vibrancy and freeing the ground for public leisure, autonomous transit, and new ecological experiences.
Phase 2 constructs the Suzhou Air Transport Hub, a low-altitude mobility gateway for Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) and Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing (STOVL) craft, ferries, and automated cargo systems, seamlessly embedded within the redesigned Jinji Centre. nchored by firstfloor and basement retail, the Jinji Centre vertically stacks MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) functions, public gardens, research labs, and mobility infrastructure—including a drone logistics hub for Sky Bao and twin aerial landing pads.
In Phase 3, a new skyline of towers rises above the former expo grounds, their silhouette echoing the jagged elegance of Suzhou’s scholar stones—iconic yet futuristic forms that anticipate the city’s next era of growth. All systems are interconnected by a robust network of autonomous vehicles, while regular traffic is relocated underground, enabling an open, breathable urban fabric above.
