The Architectural Heritage Management Field School was conceived to encourage design in conservation, documentation and heritage management research for sustainable development in the historic Asian cities. Every year the field school would travel to a historic town in Southeast Asian country to understand various issues such as rapid urbanization, design intervention, cultural tourism, community engagement related to the management of the historic environment.
This set of publications brings together a collection of documentation, design and philosophical approaches proposed by the students from participating universities: Chulalongkorn University, Mandalay Technological University, National University of Singapore, Rajamangla University of Technology Srivijiya, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and the University of Malaya.
The publications are edited by Nikhil Joshi, Johannes Widodo, Asrul Sani Razak and Jaray Suwannachart.
