Winners of the SCANTEAK DESIGN COMPETITION 2022
Congratulations to our architecture students for winning the first, the second and the third prize of the Scanteak Design Competition 2022! This competition was organised by Kyoob Architects and home-grown brand Scanteak SG to challenge the students from NUS College of Design and Engineering and SUTD ASD to reimagine the post pandemic workplace, to design an office space that “Feels at Home”. The jury panel included: Miss Jamie Lim, CEO of Scanteak SG, Mr Julian Chia, Co-founder and Director of Kyoob Architects, Dr Zdravko Trivic of NUS College of Design and Engineering, Department of Architecture, and Dr Kang Shua Yeo of SUTD ASD.
Muhammad Syafiq Bin Muhammad Ayyoob won the first prize for his project titled “Common Ground”, envisioning a series of in-between shared spaces for different types of work and social interaction.

Aston Yap, Foo Jing Xi, and Goh Xin Zhi Matthew won the second prize for their project titled “Households”, proposing an intriguing ecosystem of smaller self-sufficient “home” units connected with air-wells and courtyards.

Ng Wei Liang, Aloysius Goh Jun De, and Choy Rui Zhi won the third place for their project titled “The Forest Abode”, envisioning a rich working space intertwined with nature.
