Commenting on the project, Head of the department, Professor Jeffrey Hou remarks, “Eugene’s thesis strategically politicises an ecological future made by Pedra Branca’s human and non-human actants. It expands architecture’s disciplinary and agential limits by projecting how the island might evolve through new materials and sustainable methods of spatial co-production. Respecting natural cycles of decay and ruination, it traces the intricacies of a truly collaborative design partnership with nature.”
These recent accolades add to Eugene’s achievements featured here.
