PhD Candidate Ms Freyaan Jahangir Anklesaria received Young CAADRIA Award (YCA) at CAADRIA 2025

Congratulations to DOA PhD candidate Ms Freyaan Jahangir Anklesaria, and a PhD researcher at SEC-ETH, under Future Cities Laboratory Global programme, for receiving the Young CAADRIA Award (YCA) 2025, which is funded by The Computer-Aided Architectural Design Research in Asia (CAADRIA) conference, held at the University of Tokyo from 26 to 28 March 2025.
At CAADRIA, Freyaan presented a co-authored paper titled Cognitive Complexity in Architectural Layouts: Integrating Eye Tracking, Surveys and Spatial Analysis. Her work, supervised by Assoc Prof Dr Zdravko Trivic, on architectural cognition as an emerging field, contributed meaningfully to the conference and was recognized with a Young CAADRIA Award which celebrates excellence in student research contributions.
In total, seven such awards were allocated by a committee jointly formed by CAADRIA, the Paper Selection Committee, and the Conference Host. The award is based on two key factors, the merit of the paper contribution and its relevance to CAADRIA as well as the depth of research interest demonstrated by the researcher’s full body of work. The specific criteria for selection were – clarity of concept, understanding of context, quality of writing, strength of research in CV and supporting documents and applicability to the wider architectural research. The award includes sponsorship of conference registration fees and a certificate presented during the conference.
