TWO FACULTY MEMBERS OF THE DEPARTMENT RECOGNISED AT THE NUS ANNUAL TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2026

NUS ANNUAL TEACHING EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2026

A heartfelt congratulations to Associate Professor Francois Blanciak and Assistant Professor Dorothy Tang Shun Wai, whose outstanding commitment to teaching excellence has earned them Individual Awards at this year’s NUS Annual Teaching Excellence Awards (ATEA). The ATEA honours faculty members for their achievements in teaching, spanning instruction, educational design, assessment and feedback, as well as the broader adoption of good practices through leadership and support of fellow colleagues. It also celebrates innovation in technology-enhanced learning, recognising the thoughtful integration of appropriate technology into teaching.

“In my teaching, I strive to integrate architectural theory and practice as much as possible. Students need to be able to apply skills which are founded on a strong theoretical basis, and develop the capacity to learn from historical precedents. I see this award as recognition of that pedagogical need.”
– Associate Professor Francois Blanciak

“My teaching is continuously shaped by the exchange of ideas with my students, as they find their own positions and voices within landscape architecture.”
– Assistant Professor Dorothy Tang
