Ong Siew May (OSM) Professorship
We are honoured and delighted to welcome the 2021 Pritzker Prize laureates, Ar. Anne Lacaton and Ar. Jean-Philippe Vassal, internationally acclaimed for their innovative and sustainable contributions to contemporary architecture, as Ong Siew May (OSM) Visiting Professors for the academic year 2025/26, Semester 1. As part of their professorship, they will lead the Options Design Research Studio 1 (AR5801), a course that integrates faculty research clusters with forward-thinking design investigations. Students enrolled in AR5801 will have the unique opportunity to select from a diverse range of studio topics, allowing them to pursue areas that align with their individual interests and intellectual passions.

They have been recognised for their bold approach to both new construction and transformative projects. Over the past three decades, their portfolio has encompassed private and social housing, cultural and educational institutions, public spaces, and urban planning. Their work is distinguished by a strong commitment to social justice and sustainability, emphasising spaciousness and flexibility through the use of cost-effective and environmentally friendly materials. Central to their philosophy is the intentional creation of environments that support both the physical and emotional wellbeing of occupants.
