(AR) Lee May Anne is a practising Architect in Singapore who is the principal at her own practice – MAKK Architects.

She was the lead architect and presenter for the 2008 Shanghai World Exposition, Singapore pavilion where her team was the 4 final shortlisted. She was also the curatorial team in the 2008 Venice Biennale for the Singapore Architecture pavilion.

In her senior years with NUS where she was the vice president of ‘The Architecture Society’ (TAS), she has co-run and co-organized school events, architectural and art exhibitions together with her committee. In the early years following graduation, she dabbled in stage design, art installation and exhibition with local theatre group and artist group respectively.

Following years of teaching architecture and design in various institutions over a period of 25 years, one thing remained crucial in the pursuit towards the exploration of architecture – to find a new beginning in the field. Her studios tend to explore the possibilities of this pursuit wherever possible while stitching seamlessly with the learning pedagogy of respective levels.

Her believe in identifying canonical works throughout history of architecture, beginning with the Greek civilisation to the Romans, through to the Modern period and current, in pursuit of identifying structural architectural shifts at each significant point remained critical both in her practice and her teaching directions.
