NG San Son
Adjunct Assoc Prof
Ar. Ng San Son is a Director at DP Architects and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore’s Department of Architecture. Since joining DP Architects in 2003, he has developed a portfolio spanning community, recreational, institutional, commercial and nature-based developments.
His design approach is exploratory yet grounded in purpose. He is interested in how spatial organisation, adaptability, material expression, light and shadow can create environments that are emotionally engaging and functionally clear. Central to his work is the belief that architecture should strengthen relationships between people, place and programme while responding to the needs of clients, users and the wider community.
His portfolio includes CMPB at Gombak Drive, HomeTeamNS Khatib, SAFRA Choa Chu Kang, Downtown East, River Safari and myVillage at Serangoon Garden and the ongoing HomeTeamNS Tengah. His work has received numerous local and international accolades, and was recognised by the Urban Redevelopment Authority as one of Singapore’s “20 Under 45” architects.
San Son holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture (Honours) from NUS. He has taught architectural design at NUS since 2012 and contributes his expertise to community improvement initiatives with Tanjong Pagar Town Council, helping to enhance the precinct environment and residents’ everyday experience.
